Andy Johnston -
Andy is a UK-trained doctor who practiced in Edmonton for several decades, while establishing a highly successful chain of primary-care clinics. The 80s and early 90s were focused on raising a family and growing the business, but by the late 90s, he was ready to create a career from another great passion—premium wine. By 2001, having spent several seasons honing his skills, Andy found his ideal site on Vancouver Island. Looking to contribute something new and interesting to the world of wine, he chose Vancouver Island, in order to grow Pinot noir and other cool weather varietals, convinced that the Cowichan Valley terroir would yield grapes of high quality and unique character. Andy’s goal is to create exceptional Pinot wines that showcase the potential of the Cowichan Valley terroir.
Wendy Johnston -
Edmonton banker, runner, and prairie girl, Wendy may not have planned a second career in the wine business, but the transplant has been a great success. She manages the winery's business, retail, and event operations, and helps with the warm welcome visitors recieve in the tasting room.
